By the end of this module, you should be able to:

  • Comprehend the epidemiology of primary PPH and secondary PPH
  • Identify the pertinent risk factors and clinical features associated with primary PPH and secondary PPH, and use this knowledge to underpin your management of obstetric cases
  • Understand and recall the relevant pregnancy physiology and how that may contribute to obstetric presentations in the post-partum period
  • Describe the management of primary PPH and secondary PPH and work toward formulating a plan to implement them into clinical practice
  • Recognise the common pharmacology and procedures used across Australia and New Zealand to manage primary and secondary PPH
  • Demonstrate understanding of primary and secondary PPH presentation and management.
