About

Ethical practice and duty of care are two intrinsically linked concepts that are referenced in both Codes of conduct (Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand) and in Australian legislation. This module provides and introduction to these concepts to help you begin thinking about these important elements of practice.

The learning objectives for this module are:

  • Understand the basic principles of ethics and and social justice theory
  • Identify relevant sections of the Code of conduct (AU/NZ) pertaining to ethical practice
  • Apply an ethical framework to problems in your practice in order to make ethical decisions
  • Understand the basic principles of duty of care and your obligations under these principles
  • Identify relevant sections of legislation pertaining to duty of care
  • Apply duty of care principles to your practice in order to make ethical decisions.
