Atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia

Atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia

About

AVRT is a form of re-entry tachycardia that occurs in patients with an accessory pathway. An understanding of the pathophysiology of AVRT and an ability to identify key ECG features will assist paramedics in accurately differentiating AVRT from other forms of SVT and allow paramedics to provide appropriate and safe management to their patients.

In this online course you will learn about the pathophysiology of an accessory pathway and the mechanism that underlies this type of re-entry circuit. You will learn to identify key ECG features of pre-excitation, differentiate between different types of AVRT, and you will examine diagnostic algorithms used to differentiate a wide complex SVT with aberrancy from ventricular tachycardia.

This course is part of our advanced cardiology series aimed at advanced clinicians such as MICA Paramedics, HARU Paramedics, Critical Care Paramedics, and Intensive Care Paramedics.
