Each year Paramedics Australasia (PA) hosts the Paramedics Australasian International Conference (PAIC). The scientific/clinical content of the conference program for PAIC is decided by the PAIC Scientific Committee. PA is calling for expressions of interest for this position.

The PAIC Scientific Committee is looking to appoint 3 people to the PAIC 2017 Scientific Committee. Any full PA member can apply.

A Convenor will be nominated from within the PAIC 2017 Scientific Committee.


Scientific Committee

  • Source local, national and international keynote speakers,
  • Source appropriate pre-conference workshops
  • Administration of the Free Papers section of the conference
  • Provide advice and direction on the structure of the PAIC conference program
  • Ensure that topics to be presented are current across a broad range subjects relevant to the paramedic industry
  • Promote efficient, transparent, effective and fair processes


  • Promote efficient, transparent, effective and fair processes
  • Provide high quality, up-to-date and relevant education through a comprehensive conference program within the PAIC budget constraints
  • Provide a comprehensive record of meeting to the PA Board

Necessary skills and attributes include,

  • an interest in the paramedic industry,
  • a sound understanding of evidence-based practice,
  • the ability to build relationships and work in a team.

This is a honorary position and there is no financial remuneration. PA will support travel to attend the PAIC conference.
