Community Paramedic Manager

The opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Country Ambulance Operations, this role will be responsible for providing a clear reporting line manager and support for St John WA Community Paramedics.

This is a leadership role, and requires the ability to draw on a strong collaborative approach to enable achievement of the key outcome areas for this position. This role is responsible for operations, service delivery management and leadership.

Along with this, as our Community Paramedic Manager, you will see yourself liaising with our College of Pre-Hospital Care for training standards, our Clinical Services for continuous improvement initiatives, and various external stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective strategies and positive patient outcomes across the state. This is an 18 month Fixed-Term Full-Time position, based at our Belmont Head Office. You may be required to travel to regional Sub-Centres across Western Australia.

The skills, experiences, and attributes required

  • Experience in supporting remote teams across WA to promote collaboration, desirable to have an understanding of volunteering and regional WA
  • Strong demonstrated leadership skills through accountability, evaluation and professional development
  • Demonstrated experience with change management, service reform and continual improvement
  • Confident in building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in the development of policies, procedures, and process maps whilst adhering to organisational compliance policies
  • Knowledge of St John Ambulance Western Australia Ltd. (desirable), and
  • Knowledge of Country Ambulance Operations (desirable).

The required qualifications

  • Degree qualification in paramedicine or equivalent (desirable)
  • Tertiary qualification in management or equivalent demonstrated leadership experience.
