After a national search and recruitment process, Michelle Fyfe has been appointed as the new CEO of St John Ambulance Western Australia. Michelle’s official start date with St John will be 29 June, in the role of CEO Designate. Current CEO Tony Ahern will remain CEO until his official retirement on 29 October, and will work closely with Michelle during her transition.
St John Ambulance WA Chair, Shayne Leslie said, “Michelle brings decades of experience in understanding the diverse and complex issues that effect a Western Australia emergency service organisation, most recently as WAPOL Assistant Commissioner of State Crime.
“The Board agreed that Michelle was an exceptional candidate with an impressive track record in innovation and transformational leadership. We believe she is the ideal person to continue St John’s journey of reform within the ambulance sector and convergence with the primary health sector, fulfilling St John’s vision of a new ambulance paradigm, becoming the effective gateway into the health system for unscheduled care.
We now look forward to a continuation of the St John success story under Michelle Fyfe’s leadership and know that the organisation is in excellent hands being guided into an exciting and change driven future.”
