Presented by Dr Claire Wilkin Presentation Synopsis: The top three Paediatric respiratory complaints comprise asthma, bronchiolitis and croup. Within the prehospital sphere, there are many misconceptions about these conditions. Diagnosis and treatment can be challenging. This presentation will address common misconceptions amongst prehospital providers and examine the evidence base for changes in practice.

Bio: Dr Claire Wilkin is a Paediatric Emergency Physician at the Royal Children's Hospital. She is also the Trauma Liaison Consultant for the Emergency Department. She has extensive experience in critical care including intensive care and retrieval medicine. She has worked in the United Kingdom, Uganda and Australia. She has recently been responsible for compiling the Paediatric component of the revised Trauma Victoria guidelines. Her main interests include integrating prehospital care with the emergency department and optimising trauma care for children.
