Presented by David Burns, Retrievalist with the BHP Billiton Pilbara Air Ambulance – Rescue 602. David is a career clinician and educationalist with over 35 years’ experience within the Health industry spanning clinical, academic, education, senior management and executive roles. He has also undertaken health consultancy roles in both Australia and the United Kingdom, in the later developing Alternative Patient Pathway Care Models for Thames Valley Health Authority in Oxford, for out of hospital patient disposition where immediate hospital level assessment was not indicated.

His work has been active in a number of Ambulance Services in Australia (Victoria, Queensland) and the United Kingdom with an Executive General Manager role in Victoria and Operations Commander (Deputy CEO) in Dorset in South West England.

With in-hospital and out of hospital experience and a focus on Primary Health Service delivery in Executive and clinical capacities he is well versed in the range of scope of practice required in these areas and is able to meld the multiple health disciplines to optimise patient care experiences and to champion for patient centric models of health service in the primary and emergency health contexts.
