Presented by Dr Sean Keogh Geography dictates that large-scale natural disasters commonly occur in poorly resourced and politically unstable developing nations, presenting immense challenges to NGO healthcare workers. This talk gives some insight to the issues that international doctors, nurses and paramedics responding to these events can expect to face in this unique environment.

Biography:

Sean Keogh is the Director of Caboolture Emergency Department in Queensland and Adjunct Professor of Paramedic Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He has been involved in aeromedical retrieval and the provision of frontline emergency care for over 30 years and has led rapid field assessment teams in natural disasters throughout Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
