A Soliders 5

About the course

Synopsis: Tom will present a personal account of three operational tours as an infantry soldier, armoured vehicle driver and a combat first aider. He will provide an inside look into the injuries sustained during Australia’s longest war and how that helped him to transition from military to civilian life.

Biography: Tom joined the army when he was 16 and a half and was deployed on three operational tours including Solomon Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan. Feeling the urge to pursue medicine due to my experiences in Afghanistan, Tom joined the QAS in 2011 and is currently a full time Acting Clinical Support Officer in Metro South, and part time student studying a Masters in Specialist Paramedic Practice through Monash University.
