The inaugural meeting of the Heath Workforce Australia (HWA) standing advisory committee for health professions was held in Adelaide on Monday 11 April 2011.

Alan Eade (Vice President) represented Paramedics Australasia at this meeting and the following items were considered by the committee:

Terms of Reference – Presented and accepted

Review of the current HWA major initiatives: Work Plan; Information, Analysis, and Planning; Workforce Innovation and Reform; Clinical Training Reform; and International Recruitment.

Input from all committee members on the questions: What do you see as the current and looming major workforce issues? What would you like to get out of the engagement with HWA?

This committee will meet up to 4 times per year.
